Insanity Bottles

Let the insanity begin! The 2005 Terlano Pinot Bianco “Rarita” has arrived. Thirteen years ago the grapes were harvested manually followed by a gentle whole cluster pressing, clarification of the must by natural sedimentation. Slow fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks with partial malo (50%). Aged on the lees in big neutral barrels for 12 months THEN the insanity begins: the wine is further aged on the lees in steel pressurized tanks with no fining or filtering for 12-ish years! Oh boy. Since this has just arrived we haven’t tried it (trying to convince @kelsens to bring up a bottle to taste – we’ll buy lunch). But as the 2002 Pinot Bianco needed about 5 hours of decanting time before it soared we suspect this bottle will need the same if not more. $165 and in stock and as you probably guessed, it’s limited (3000 bottles total production). We are open until 6pm today. #renegadewines #santabarbara #winenerd #sb #sommlife #winetasting #wineporn #seesb #trustyourpalate #montecito #sbcwine #seriousjuice #winetime #winegeeks #winewednesday #funkzone #centralcalifornia #foodiesofsb #zagat #sommelier #thatwinenerd #intothebottle #somm3 #savorsb #sbindependent #sbindy
